IT Support Specialist - Onsite Contract

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist for a contract project. The IT Support Specialist will provide hands-on technical support throughout the hospital environment, assisting staff with hardware, software, network, and other technology-related issues.
This role will monitor and manage support tickets, troubleshoot issues across hospital departments and locations, document resolutions, participate in daily IT team meetings, and assist with IT projects and operational needs as assigned.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, responsive, customer-focused, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor email and the IT ticketing system at the beginning of each workday and throughout the day.
- Review assigned ticket queues, prioritize requests, and determine appropriate response based on urgency and business impact.
- Participate in daily IT team meetings to review assignments, completed work, outstanding issues, and priorities.
- Provide hands-on, in-person technical support throughout the hospital and travel to various departments and locations as needed.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and other IT-related issues.
- Work assigned support tickets through resolution and provide timely updates and detailed documentation.
- Monitor ticket queues and respond promptly to newly assigned or escalated requests.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with hospital staff to understand technical issues and provide customer-focused solutions.
- Maintain accurate ticket documentation and ensure issues are properly updated and closed according to department procedures.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and service.
- Collaborate with IT team members on troubleshooting, projects, and operational needs.
- Assist with other IT support duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in help desk, desktop support, IT support, or a similar technical role.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills and professional communication with users at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an IT team.
- Ability to travel throughout a hospital or healthcare facility to provide on-site support.
- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and IT service management practices.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Previous healthcare IT experience is preferred but not required.
