Music Retail Senior Associate

Musicians - this job is for you!

We are looking for a strong, motivated salesperson who enjoys working with musical instruments and helping customers find the right gear. This person should be comfortable talking to people, demonstrating instruments, and keeping the sales floor organized. Music retail experience is preferred, and the ability to play guitar, keyboard, drums, or similar instruments would certainly help for demonstration purposes!

Job Responsibilites:

Customer Sales & Service

• Greet customers and make them feel welcome.
• Ask questions to understand what the customer needs and recommend the right products.
• Demonstrate instruments such as guitars, keyboards, drums, or similar.
• Help customers compare products and explain differences in simple terms.
• Handle basic customer issues or returns with a positive attitude.

Sales Floor & Inventory Support

• Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and stocked.
• Help manager with receiving inventory when needed. Participate in inventory counts.
• Make sure instruments are in clean, polished, tuned, and displayed safely.

Teamwork & Store Support

• Work closely with the Store Manager and other staff to meet sales goals.
• Learn product details and stay up to date on new gear.
• Help with simple marketing tasks like taking photos or posting on social media.
• Support store events, promotions, and community outreach.

Basic Admin Tasks

• Use the POS system to ring up sales accurately.
• Handle cash and card transactions responsibly.
• Follow store opening and closing procedures when assigned.
• Assist with closing procedures such as emptying trash receptacles, cleaning counters, and sweeping floors if needed.

Requirements

• Retail experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to play an instrument well enough so that you can effectively demo gear. This could be guitar, ukulele, mandolin, or similar stringed instruments, keyboards, drums, etc.
• Must have the desire and ability to learn about the gear sold in the store - many of our vendors have online training that will help you grow your confidence!
• Friendly, outgoing personality with strong communication skills.
• Comfortable talking to people and finding solutions/products.
• Able to lift and move musical instruments and boxes.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn our POS system
