Mobile Automotive, Diesel, & Small Engine Technician
Our family-owned mobile repair business is seeking a skilled Full-Time Mobile Mechanic to join our field operations. In this role, you will diagnose, service, and repair a diverse fleet of assets, including automotive vehicles, small engines, diesel trucks, and occasionally heavy equipment. While our operations are mobile, we maintain a physical central office and dedicated repair facility for centralized coordination and complex shop-based work. We operate Monday through Friday and provide a fully equipped company service rig along with all necessary tools. This position offers stable full-time hours, comprehensive benefits, and a competitive flat-rate hourly pay structure distributed bi-weekly. Key Responsibilities
- Multifaceted Repair: Perform high-quality diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on automotive vehicles, small engines, light/heavy diesel trucks, and some heavy machinery.
- End-to-End Troubleshooting: Correctly diagnose the root cause of mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical failures and perform the entire necessary repair on-site.
- Field Problem-Solving: Apply advanced critical thinking and independent troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues efficiently in the field.
- Asset Management: Safely operate the company-provided service rig to travel between our physical facility and various field locations.
- Inventory & Tool Care: Maintain meticulous organization of company-provided tools, diagnostic equipment, and vehicle parts inventory.
- Documentation: Accurate logging of diagnostic findings, parts utilized, and labor hours completed for each service call.
Position Requirements
- Reliability: Exceptional punctuality and a proven track record of consistent daily attendance.
- Transportation: Possession of a reliable personal vehicle to commute to our physical central office and repair facility each morning.
- Licensing: A valid, clean driver’s license capable of meeting our commercial insurance standards to operate company service vehicles.
- Background Screening: Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check and provide professional reference contacts.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong cognitive troubleshooting capabilities and the skills to execute complex mechanical repairs independently.
