CDL Driver

The CDL Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient local transportation within a small team environment. This full-time position requires a Class B CDL and adherence to DOT regulations while reporting directly to the Transportation Manager. The driver is responsible for maintaining vehicle safety, managing routes, and delivering excellent service without the need for overnight or out-of-town travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues
• Comply with DOT regulations and follow traffic laws at all times
• Plan routes using GPS to ensure efficient local shuttle operations
• Secure loads and refuel and clean vehicles regularly
• Maintain manual logs of driving hours and activities
• Report road incidents and follow accident procedures promptly
• Communicate effectively and maintain a positive attitude with customers
• Keep commercial driver’s license up to date

Required Qualifications

• Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Manual
• Valid DOT physical certification
• Ability to maintain manual vehicle logs
• Experience with vehicle inspections and load securing
• Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and safety compliance
