Cemetery Grounds Keeper (Mission, TX)

Marathon Staffing is seeking reliable, hardworking candidates to help maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept facility in Mission, TX. If you take pride in your work and enjoy staying busy, we’d love to hear from you.

Pay: $12.50/hour (may increase upon full-time hire).
Schedule: 40 hours/week, typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with Saturdays as requested/required. Overtime may be needed as circumstances arise.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and stocked facility
• Clean and care for floors and surfaces (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing)
• Clean and sanitize restrooms
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including appliances and surfaces
• Collect and dispose of trash and debris inside the facility
• Replace burned-out light bulbs as needed
• If needed: Assist with openings/closings for burials, entombments, and inurnments
• If needed: Operate mower, weed eater, and blower
• If needed: Handle and complete work orders related to grave and marker maintenance
• If needed: Prepare burial areas within a 25-foot radius and ensure they are clean and neat
• Follow all safety rules and Universal Precautions
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Acceptable driving record and applicable license(s) to operate equipment/vehicles
• High school degree or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively with associates, contractors, and client families
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
• Pre-employment drug test and background check required (testing does not include THC)

• Work indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions
