Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join our accounting team in our Lake Mary office. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who can work independently, manage multiple clients, and handle day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities while supporting the overall accounting process. The ideal candidate will be comfortable collaborating with the tax and advisory teams. This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys consistent, hands-on accounting work and is looking for a long-term role within a stable and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial data
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
- Work with both cash and accrual basis accounting depending on client needs and complexity
- Assist in maintaining accurate and consistent financial reporting
- Review and understand accounts payable and accounts receivable processes within client systems
- Record and review general journal entries, including payroll-related entries
- Work with payroll reports and third-party payroll providers to properly record payroll activity
- Handle after-the-fact payroll entries and adjustments
- Prepare and file sales tax returns
- Support year-end close and coordinate with tax team
- Identify and resolve discrepancies and accounting issues
- Communicate professionally with clients to request information and clarify transactions
- Actively monitor and analyze client financial statements, partnering with tax and advisory teams to flag issues, respond to changes, and uncover planning opportunities
Qualifications:
- Experience: 4–5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Experience working with multiple clients and meeting deadlines
- Must be a team player with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Good understanding of cash and accrual accounting and financial statement preparation
- Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online (required)
- Experience with general journal entries, including payroll-related entries and tax adjustments
- Familiarity working with payroll reports and third-party payroll companies
- Exposure to after-the-fact payroll processing
- Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows within accounting systems
- Comfortable using accounting and business software
- Excel proficiency is required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
