Job Description: Human Resources Benefits Specialist:
The Human Resources Benefits Specialist position assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions, verifies all insurance billing, maintains employee files and ensures compliance with employee benefit company.
Coordinates and monitors the administration of employee insurance programs; serves as liaison to employees for insurance information; records and updates employee enrollment information in benefits programs; ensures all forms are completed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Administration of various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
Responsible for annual employee benefit open enrollment meetings and monthly benefit orientations as needed and explain benefits and assist with the completion of the enrollment forms.
Maintaining employee benefits and 401K records.
Advising employees on the organization’s benefits programs and preparing information for new hires when eligible.
Handling benefits claims, enrollments and cancellations.
Entering deductions for new hires in ADP and preparing spreadsheet to send to COBRA administrator.
Keep track of employee benefits due for employees on Leave of Absence.
HRA Reimbursements – set up spreadsheet and process payments for claims.
Process Monthly Cafeteria Plan Claims for payroll and issue PO for check to be deposited.
Verifying the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintaining statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Including logging for W2 reporting, 1095 YE reporting and monthly journal entry
Monitoring third party administration of COBRA.
Answering employee queries about benefits or HR related issues or escalating issues through Human Resources organization as appropriate
Weekly 401K upload to 401k provider.
Processing 401K loans and deductions and EOB’s for terminated employees and setting up biyearly meetings for new enrollees by coordinating with 401K provider.
Call in all Workers Comp, Auto, General Liability and Property Claims and follow through with the care, repairs or additional information needed by the adjusters.
Maintaining records for adjusters, providers, attorneys and auditors.
Log Vendor Certificates and contact department of expirations. Cancel coverage when expired and new certificate not received.
Send Broker information for Customer Certificate of Insurance requests to process.
Prepare AFLAC & Health Premium costs for W-2.
Prepare for payroll FSA Goals & Deductions.
Provide annual report to Payroll for third party Sick pay.
Preparing the 401K Census, Profit Sharing and True UP Distributions.

Computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office. Superb attention to detail. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Written and verbal communication skills. Strong communication skills, writing and verbal.
Education and Experience

Required:
· Associate’s degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for education requirement.
· Three plus years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration.
