Professional Enabler (Retail Help)

We are looking for a part-time, long-term person to work with us.

Are you passionate about cooking? Do you have restaurant or education experience? Did you love what you did, but maybe the environment or hours didn't work? Are you looking for a stable, consistent, long-term, part-time job?

Our ideal co-worker has Back of House Knowledge, and a Front of House Personality. They are experienced in, and excited about cooking, and they love to teach and learn. They're available consistent work days (Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-5 or 6 to begin.) They are a pleasure to spend time around, and know how to put their nose to the grindstone when there’s a big shipment or the store is bustling. They sincerely enjoy interacting with a diverse group of people, and get a little dopamine hit when they help someone solve a problem, and enjoy cooperating with a close-knit, small staff. They are passionate about kitchen knives, and aren’t daunted by the reality that it takes more than a year of challenging training before they could have the option to sharpen for customers.

The work entails learning to operate a Point of Sale system. It's physical, but not grueling. You'll need to be able to stand or walk most (but not all) of the day, lift up to 50 pounds, and move carefully around your coworkers in tight spaces. Detail and accuracy are important. If we were asking for the moon, we’d love someone who loves to (or would love to learn to) do light bookkeeping.

Our staff vibes really well together, and the opportunity exists because a current long-term part-time employee is succeeding in her own business, and needs more time to grow it and fill in only when needed. We would rather hire no person than the wrong person, but we really do need another person to keep everyone at their preferred work/life balance (very important).

We start at $19 an hour, and increase after a 90 day review period or sooner.
