Front Office Medical Assistant - $28/hr - Santa Barbara & Goleta

We are seeking a talented and experienced Front Office Medical Assistant to join our Podiatry practice in Santa Barbara. This full-time role primarily supports our Santa Barbara office with occasional travel to the Goleta location. The Medical Assistant will balance front office patient intake and scheduling duties with back office support, working closely with a dedicated team and multiple providers. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates excellent communication skills, and takes initiative to support both patients and staff efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Manage phone communications and respond to patient inquiries
• Obtain insurance authorizations and verify patient benefits
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments accurately
• Effectively communicate treatment plans and act as liaison between doctors and patients
• Support administrative tasks including exam room stocking and procedure preparation
• Provide coverage and assistance at both Santa Barbara and Goleta offices as needed
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members to ensure smooth workflow
• Balance front office patient intake with back office clinical support tasks

Required Qualifications

• Proficient in medical terminology and insurance verification
• Experienced in appointment scheduling and patient communication
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in medical assisting
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
