Immigration Attorney- EOIR Court Coverage

Job description:

We are a nationwide immigration law firm seeking an experienced immigration attorney to provide in-person EOIR hearing coverage in Seattle and Tacoma, Washington, with additional opportunities for remote hearing coverage before immigration courts throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will not only be EOIR experienced but English/Spanish bilingual.

Compensation

• Master Calendar Hearing — In Person: $400 flat rate
• Master Calendar Hearing — Remote: $250 flat rate
• Individual Merits Hearing — In Person: $1,000 flat rate
• Individual Merits Hearing — Remote: $750 flat rate

Responsibilities

The covering attorney will be required to file an EOIR-28 and enter an appearance in addition to our lead counsel’s existing appearance. Our firm will remain lead counsel and will continue to manage the case, including filings, evidence, deadlines, case strategy, and client representation.

Before each hearing, we will provide the covering attorney with the relevant case materials, procedural history, hearing objectives, and any necessary preparation instructions.

Coverage counsel will be responsible for:

• Reviewing case materials and preparing for the assigned hearing
• Communicating with lead counsel as needed
• Appearing at the scheduled EOIR hearing
• Addressing the hearing objectives provided by lead counsel
• Promptly providing a post-hearing report summarizing the outcome and any new deadlines, orders, or requirements

Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in developing a reliable, ongoing relationship with an attorney who can regularly cover in-person hearings in Seattle and Tacoma and may also be available for remote hearings nationwide. English/Spanish bilingual is a plus.
