Electronics Technician
Job Description
We are a fast-paced startup building next-generation cybersecurity technology for both government and commercial applications. Our products combine custom electronics, embedded systems, and advanced software to deliver new capabilities in cyber defense.
We are seeking a highly capable Electronics Technician to support our R&D and product development efforts. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, building complex systems, and working directly with engineers to solve challenging problems.
You will work in our lab assembling, testing, debugging, and improving systems built from custom electronics, embedded hardware, and Linux/Windows software platforms.
This is a high-impact role where your work directly influences product development and field deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and configure complex systems consisting of custom PCBs, computing hardware, and software components
- Perform board-level and system-level troubleshooting using lab test equipment
- Use tools such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and signal generators to diagnose issues
- Work closely with hardware and software engineers to debug prototypes and validate new features
- Support R&D testing, product validation, and system demonstrations
- Repair or modify electronics assemblies including component replacement and soldering
- Document troubleshooting steps and test procedures so results are reproducible
- Track hardware revisions, configurations, and system builds across multiple development projects
- Prepare and test systems for customer demonstrations and field deployments
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronic systems and hardware assemblies
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience using electronics lab equipment such as:
- Oscilloscopes
- Digital multimeters
- Power supplies
- Signal generators
- Experience assembling and repairing PCB-based electronics
- Strong systematic troubleshooting methodology
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced development environment
- Clear technical communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical training in Electronics Technology or similar
- Experience with embedded systems or custom hardware platforms
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments
- Experience working in R&D, prototyping, or product development environments
- Experience with surface-mount soldering and rework
