Inpatient Pharmacist in Van Nuys, CA

Join a leading healthcare system as an Inpatient Pharmacist, supporting a major Los Angeles County Department of Health hospital. This long-term contract role offers the opportunity to gain valuable hospital experience with a highly respected health system known for its comprehensive ambulatory care clinics and hospitals.

Location: Sylmar, CA (within the greater LA area, near Van Nuys)

Schedule:

• Primarily 8-hour shifts
• Flexible to work all shifts, mainly 1st and 2nd shifts
• Occasional 3rd shift required

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical pharmacy services within an inpatient hospital setting
• Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize therapeutic outcomes
• Participate in medication preparation and dispensing
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist with active licensure
• Preference for new PGY1 residency graduates
• Candidates without PGY1 but possessing some hospital experience (including internships) considered
• Approximately 2 years of current inpatient experience preferred
• Strong clinical knowledge and dedication to patient safety
• Ability to pass a competency exam on-site (one chance to pass)
• Successful completion of Livescan background screening prior to start

Contract Details and Potential for Permanent Position:

• This assignment is a contract position through an agency supporting LACDHS
• While working as a contractor, candidates have the option to apply directly to the County for permanent placement
