Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician in Cedar Rapids, Iowa - Weekend Only, Light Volume

Provide weekend call coverage within an established cardiothoracic surgery program featuring manageable case volume and recurring coverage opportunities throughout the year.


Practice & Cases


  • Inpatient adult cardiothoracic surgery setting
  • Full scope cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery coverage
  • Mix of operative cases and consultative call responsibilities
  • Includes open-heart surgery, pacemaker procedures, and cardiovascular surgical care

Schedule


  • 1-2 weekends per month
  • Typical coverage runs from Friday evening through Monday morning
  • Additional holiday and vacation coverage opportunities available
  • Call coverage limited to assigned weekends

Requirements


  • Must be an MD or DO
  • Active Iowa license required or open to Interstate Medical Licensure Compact physicians
  • Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • ACLS, BLS, and DEA required

Logistics


  • Airfare, lodging, rental car, and mileage are covered
  • Travel arrangements coordinated before each assignment
