We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in the Denver, Colorado area. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized instruction, implementing accommodations and modifications, and helping students achieve academic, social, and behavioral success.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and creating inclusive learning environments that support student growth and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students' individual learning needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
Modify curriculum and classroom materials to meet diverse learning needs.
Collect and analyze student performance data to monitor progress toward IEP goals.
Implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies.
Support students with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional skill development.
Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education or related field.
Active Colorado Special Education Teaching License or ability to obtain licensure.
Knowledge of IDEA regulations, IEP development, and special education best practices.
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
Experience working with students across various disability categories.
Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques.
Experience in inclusion, resource, or self-contained classroom settings.
Knowledge of data-driven instruction and progress monitoring.
