School Counselor in Canton, MI

We are seeking two enthusiastic individuals to join an energetic school environment close to Canton, MI. This contract opportunity starts August 31, 2026, and runs through June 4, 2027, offering full-time hours and the chance to provide key guidance and advocacy for tomorrow’s leaders.

Your background in school counseling will help empower students as they navigate academic choices, personal growth, and preparation for post-secondary success.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Michigan education certificate with School Counselor Endorsement (please list current license/certifications when applying)
• Previous experience advising or counseling students at the high school level preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust with students and families
• Skilled at collaborating with educators, families, and administrative teams

What You’ll Do:

• Offer individualized academic counseling and planning to high school students
• Help students identify strengths, interests, and set actionable academic goals
• Guide students through course selection, scheduling, and graduation pathways
• Intervene early to support students facing academic or personal challenges
• Collaborate with teachers and families to facilitate student success
• Maintain accurate, confidential student records
• Provide resources for college planning, scholarships, and career exploration
