Machine Operator
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for operating production machinery in a fast-paced food production environment. You will work closely with equipment used in the manufacturing of tortillas, ensuring product quality and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Operate and oversee production machinery, including mixing machines and tortilla production equipment.
- Lift and handle up to 50lbs of ingredients throughout the day.
- Assist in weighing and pouring ingredients into mixing bowls.
- Document ingredient usage and production details accurately.
- Adjust oven temperatures and mesh belt speeds using ERP/HMI systems.
- Turn on equipment and verify its proper functioning, reporting issues to supporting departments.
- Replace mesh and Teflon belts safely and correctly.
- Ensure recipes, seasoning, weights, and sizes align with ERP System (Plex) requirements.
- Record waste accurately, troubleshoot discrepancies, and collaborate with maintenance for equipment issues.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Participate actively in Food Safety and Food Defense activities.
- Assist with equipment cleaning and proper reassembly.
- 1-2 years of experience operating production machinery, including equipment setups, start-ups, and adjustments.
- Experience in food production, preferably in a bakery setting.
- Comfortable working with computers and entering data into ERP systems.
- Ability to lift between 30-55lbs consistently.
- Basic English or Spanish language skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to work attendance and a desire to advance in a career.
- Willingness to work in a hot environment up to 100 degrees.
- Comfortable working at a fast pace and standing for up to 8 hours a day.

Work EnvironmentWork in a food production environment that can reach temperatures up to 100 degrees. You'll handle formula and dough, resulting in gluten particles in the air. Appropriate attire includes a full gown, hair net, and beard net (if applicable), along with hearing protection provided by the company. Shorts are allowed on the production floor.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
