Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting production equipment in a manufacturing facility that designs and builds power sections, including rotors and stators, for downhole mud motors used in oil, gas, and thru-tubing drilling. The position is approximately 75% mechanical and 25% electrical, and involves both proactive and reactive maintenance on a wide range of industrial machinery and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines, sand blasters, overhead cranes, hydraulics, pneumatics, cylinders, air compressors, and combustion ovens.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to quickly identify root causes and restore equipment to proper operation.
  • Maintain and repair PLC systems, including input and output (I/O) troubleshooting, and support control circuits to ensure reliable process control.
  • Execute proactive maintenance strategies to reduce equipment downtime and extend the life of machinery and components.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to detect wear, potential failures, and safety concerns, and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Support process control requirements by keeping equipment calibrated, functional, and aligned with production specifications.
  • Perform maintenance on overhead cranes, ensuring safe operation, proper lifting performance, and compliance with facility standards.
  • Work safely at heights and in occasional confined spaces, following all safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to support continuous improvement and reliable equipment history.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team and production staff to prioritize work orders, coordinate downtime, and support high-volume operations.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule, responding to after-hours maintenance needs as assigned.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement in all maintenance activities.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical maintenance skills, with experience working on CNC machines, sand blasters, overhead cranes, hydraulics, pneumatics, cylinders, air compressors, and combustion ovens.
  • Solid electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills, including working with PLCs, input and output (I/O) devices, and control circuits.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and reactive repairs in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort working at heights and in occasional confined spaces, adhering strictly to safety procedures.
  • Ability to work long shifts and extended hours, including overnight schedules and on-call rotations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions, diagrams, and safety guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and production staff.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy equipment maintenance is highly beneficial.
  • Experience with process control environments and climate-controlled facilities is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with combustion ovens and high-temperature equipment maintenance is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-person maintenance team.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on proactive maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to participate in a structured on-call rotation and plan availability weeks in advance.

Why Work Here?

You join a maintenance team with a strong, supportive culture and a collaborative atmosphere where people enjoy working together and helping each other succeed. The team is growing significantly, offering opportunities to take on responsibility and make a visible impact on the reliability and performance of the facility. You benefit from clear scheduling, including advance notice of on-call rotations, which helps you plan your life and maintain predictability in a demanding environment. The facility invests in process control and climate-controlled areas, demonstrating a commitment to stable operations and a safe, modern work setting.

Work Environment

The work environment is a high-volume industrial manufacturing facility where approximately two-thirds of the workspace is climate controlled due to process control requirements, while some areas remain non-climate-controlled. The role involves working primarily on industrial equipment such as CNC machines, sand blasters, overhead cranes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, cylinders, air compressors, PLCs, and combustion ovens. The standard shift runs from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with typical workloads of 70–80 hours per week, including six 12-hour shifts and participation in a rotating on-call schedule. On-call assignments are communicated about six weeks in advance to allow for personal planning. The position requires comfort working at heights and in occasional confined spaces, and adherence to all safety protocols and appropriate attire for an industrial maintenance setting.
