Job Description
This role focuses on setting up and operating press brakes and turret punch presses to produce high-quality HVAC sheet metal components. You will work with blueprints, CAD/CAM tools, and measuring instruments to fabricate precise parts, contribute to sheet metal assembly, and support both HVAC and data center manufacturing projects in a modern, regulated facility.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brakes and turret punch presses to fabricate sheet metal components according to specifications.
- Perform sheet metal fabrication and assembly for HVAC and related manufacturing projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to determine fabrication requirements.
- Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet tolerance and quality standards.
- Apply forward-thinking sheet metal design principles to create complex, reliable structures that fit within specified dimensions.
- Work with CAD/CAM tools (including Mastercam or similar software) to program and adjust fabrication processes.
- Maintain organized work areas and follow established workflows to support efficient production.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to troubleshoot fabrication issues and improve processes.
- Follow all safety procedures while working with presses, fabrication equipment, and tools.
- Support wiring and assembly tasks as needed, especially for data center and HVAC products.
- Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow within the team.
Essential Skills
- At least 2+ years of experience setting up and operating press brakes and turret punch presses.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience with sheet metal fabrication and press brake operation.
- At least 1+ year of blueprint reading experience for manufacturing or fabrication applications.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures accurately.
- Solid math skills to calculate dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software, including Mastercam or comparable tools.
- Experience working with HVAC sheet metal and sheet metal assembly.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a fabrication and warehouse environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Any type of CAD/CAM experience is acceptable; motivation to learn and grow is highly valued.
- Forward-thinking sheet metal design skills, including the ability to create complex and reliable structures within tight dimensional constraints.
- Wiring experience is helpful but not required.
- Experience in manufacturing related to HVAC or data center products is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated good attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work well in a small, close-knit team environment.
- Comfort with a culture that values both hard work and having fun.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large, brand-new warehouse with windows and high ceilings, featuring a regulated environment and dedicated areas for machines and assembly work. You will work as part of a small team where leadership treats everyone like family and regularly organizes fun holiday parties and employee appreciation events. Available shifts include a day shift from 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, with overtime currently available, and an evening shift from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday with a shift differential. The dress code is casual, with steel-toe boots required for safety. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maple Grove, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
