Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time, school-based position in Wilmington, NC for the 2026–2027 school year. This role will serve students across one middle school and one high school, providing comprehensive speech and language services that support communication, social interaction, and academic achievement.
This is an excellent opportunity for an SLP who enjoys working with adolescents and helping students develop the communication skills needed for success both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide speech-language therapy services to middle and high school students
- Conduct evaluations, assessments, and re-evaluations
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Address communication needs related to articulation, language, fluency, pragmatics, and functional communication
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and support transition planning when appropriate
- Ensure compliance with state, district, and federal special education requirements
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist License
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
- School-based or pediatric/adolescent experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
