School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Overland Park, Kansas

This contract-based Speech-Language Pathologist role offers the chance to support a smaller student population, while focusing on specialized needs within center-based programs at both buildings. Enjoy a 40-hour workweek from approximately 7:35 am to 3:35 pm, though there is some flexibility. The position starts as soon as possible and runs through December, with the possibility of extending through the remainder of the academic year.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Valid state licensure and ASHA certification (CCC-SLP)
• Experience or strong interest in school-based practice, especially working in middle and high school settings
• Comfort supporting students with a range of communication needs, including those in center-based programs
• Collaborative approach, able to work closely with teachers, families, and support staff
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for students
• Manage caseloads in both mainstream and center-based classrooms
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing recommendations and updates
• Document progress and maintain accurate records
• Communicate regularly with educators and families regarding student needs and successes
• Adapt strategies and schedules as required for student and school needs
