Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacy role is available supporting warehouse operations with a six-month contract assignment. Scheduled Monday through Friday, from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., this position involves key responsibilities in medication management and inventory oversight.
Responsibilities include overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of medications, ensuring compliance with USP standards and all relevant state and federal regulations. You will manage inventory levels by ordering medications and supplies, minimizing waste, and verifying medication orders before preparation and shipment. Supervising pharmacy technicians involved in inventory, picking, packing, and shipping is an integral part of the role. Collaboration with sterile compounding pharmacists and technicians will ensure the availability of medications and supplies for patient orders. Additional duties involve reviewing controlled substance inventories, maintaining documentation, performing cycle counts, conducting inventory reconciliations, and leading quality assurance audits. Proficiency with pharmacy software and inventory management systems is necessary to effectively track medications and supplies. Close coordination with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams will help ensure timely medication delivery.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active and clear Illinois pharmacist license
- Working knowledge of intravenous (IV) medications
- Experience in inventory management and compliance with regulatory standards
- Supervisory experience with pharmacy staff preferred
- Ability to utilize pharmacy software and inventory systems
