School-Based Physical Therapist - Lowell, Massachusetts
Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working onsite with students in grades K-12, providing skilled physical therapy support in an educational setting near Lowell, MA. The contract runs from early September through mid-June, closely aligning with the academic calendar.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active and current Physical Therapy (PT) license required
- Experience delivering physical therapy services in school or pediatric settings strongly preferred
- Ability to adapt support to a wide range of ages and functional needs across K-12 students
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and other support staff
- Detail-oriented documentation and case management abilities
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments for students with varying motor, sensory, or mobility needs
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address each student’s goals
- Work closely with special education teams and classroom staff to facilitate inclusion and access
- Provide direct therapy sessions and consultative support to school personnel
- Track student progress, prepare documentation, and contribute to IEPs as required
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about interventions and progress
