Make an impact as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher supporting K-8 students in an engaging, collaborative environment. This full-time contract opportunity involves providing adaptive physical education services across school sites in beautiful Santa Monica and Malibu, with a supportive team of two fellow APE teachers to coordinate lesson planning and share resources. The role requires flexibility and enthusiasm for travel between locations, delivering meaningful instruction designed to foster physical growth and self-confidence in students with varying abilities.

Ideal candidates bring a passion for serving students with diverse needs, a strong understanding of adaptive PE curriculum, and proven experience working in educational settings. Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active California teaching license specific to Adaptive Physical Education
  • Previous school-based adaptive PE experience (required for consideration)
  • Credentialed applicants will be given priority
  • Current negative TB test and successful fingerprinting clearance
  • Reliable transportation to travel between multiple school sites
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with a team of adaptive PE professionals
  • Comfortable conducting a Zoom interview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver adaptive physical education instruction to a K-8 caseload
  • Develop IEP-aligned goals and track student progress
  • Plan activities in cooperation with two other APE teachers
  • Provide individualized and group instruction based on student needs
  • Communicate regularly with school staff and families to support student outcomes
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging PE environment across multiple locations
