Accounts Payable Clerk
Job Description
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day invoice and payment activities for a multi-entity business. This position plays an important role in keeping vendor accounts accurate, payments on schedule, and financial records well organized. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a high volume of transactions, communicating with suppliers and internal teams, and resolving discrepancies with care and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
• Process a large volume of supplier invoices for multiple business entities while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
• Review invoices, assign the correct accounting codes, and enter payment details into the accounts payable system.
• Maintain and update vendor profiles to ensure records remain complete, current, and properly documented.
• Reconcile vendor statements against internal records and investigate differences to keep balances accurate.
• Support weekly payment cycles by preparing invoices for approval and coordinating timely disbursements.
• Research billing issues, follow up on missing information, and work with vendors or internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor payment status and help ensure obligations are met in accordance with company procedures and agreed terms.
• Collaborate with finance staff and operational teams to maintain organized, reliable accounts payable documentation.
• Experience in accounts payable, invoice processing, or a closely related accounting support role.• Working knowledge of invoice coding, vendor account maintenance, and payment processing procedures.
• Ability to manage high-volume transactional workloads with strong attention to detail.
• Experience reconciling statements and resolving invoice or payment discrepancies effectively.
• Proficiency using accounting or enterprise systems; prior experience with organization-specific platforms is preferred.
• Strong communication skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to stay organized, meet recurring deadlines, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
