We are looking for a dependable Mailroom Assistant to support daily mail and package operations for a manufacturing environment in Kansas City, Missouri. This Contract position focuses on receiving, organizing, scanning, and distributing incoming correspondence and shipments while providing responsive support to office staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-minded, and comfortable handling administrative tasks that keep workplace communication and facilities requests running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
• Receive, sort, and route incoming mail, parcels, and overnight deliveries to the appropriate employees and departments.
• Scan correspondence, packages, and invoices accurately and forward records to the correct internal teams for processing.
• Coordinate packaging and shipment activities, including handling outgoing materials through courier services such as FedEx.
• Deliver mail and related items throughout the office in a timely manner to support daily business operations.
• Respond to questions from office staff regarding mail distribution, package status, and general mailroom support needs.
• Submit building maintenance requests when office issues arise and help ensure concerns are communicated promptly.
• Maintain organized mailroom records and follow established procedures for tracking incoming and outgoing items.• Experience supporting mailroom, shipping, receiving, or similar office service functions.
• Ability to sort, scan, and distribute mail with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with daily mail handling, package tracking, and courier shipment coordination.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist employees in a courteous and attentive manner.
• Comfortable using basic office equipment and digital tools for scanning and recordkeeping.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet time-sensitive delivery needs.
