Job Description

Soliant is seeking a qualified and experienced Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide itinerant support across a school district near Vancouver, Washington.

This full-time opportunity is ideal for a DHH educator who is comfortable working across multiple school settings and has experience supporting students with a variety of hearing technologies and communication approaches.

Assignment Details

Position: Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
Schedule: Full-Time
School Year: Full School Year
Setting: School-based, itinerant
Location: Vancouver, WA
Schedule: Flexible
Travel: Will visit different schools across the district on a weekly basis

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple school locations.

  • Travel between schools throughout the district based on student and program needs.

  • Develop and implement individualized instruction and support strategies.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, families, and related service providers.

  • Support students utilizing a variety of communication modalities and hearing technologies.

  • Monitor student progress and adjust services based on individual needs.

  • Provide guidance and resources to educational teams supporting DHH students.

  • Support implementation of IEP goals and accommodations.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate student progress and needs effectively.

Required Qualifications

  • Current OSPI certification with a DHH endorsement required.

  • Experience working with students who use cochlear implants.

  • Experience working with students who use hearing aids.

  • Experience supporting students who use FM systems.

  • Experience working with ASL users.

  • Ability to travel between multiple schools within the district.

  • Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with district teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an itinerant DHH role.

  • Experience working across multiple school settings.

  • Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.

  • Experience collaborating with families and multidisciplinary educational teams.

  • Strong understanding of the diverse communication and educational needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
