HR Generalist
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for administering and executing human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, employee relations, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. This role will support two sites in Cleveland, OH, and Cardington, OH, requiring travel to the Cardington location at least twice per month.
Responsibilities- Track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and continuing education.
- Administer and execute HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, and performance management.
- Handle employment-related inquiries and refer complex matters to appropriate staff.
- Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations and review policies to ensure compliance.
- Oversee and coordinate all employee benefits, including annual open enrollment and retirement savings programs.
- Interpret and administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including benefits and leave matters.
- Manage recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding processes for full-time employment opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with safety training courses for new hires.
- Utilize HRIS to track employee activity and maintain employee records.
- Assist with union contractual negotiations and a variety of HR duties.
- Minimum of five years of relevant HR generalist experience, especially in benefits and employee relations.
- Experience in a manufacturing and unionized environment preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in PC, Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and HRIS.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resources Management, Benefit Administration, Business Administration, or Social Sciences.
- High interest in working in a team environment.
The role involves working long hours in a sedentary position, performing repetitive motions, and occasionally moving objects up to 25lbs. You will collaborate with manufacturing team members in a potentially noisy environment and follow safety guidelines, including wearing PPE. The position may require working outside of standard business hours and traveling to the Cardington, OH location twice per month.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
