Job Description

Join a growing medical device manufacturer as a 2nd shift Assembler, where you will build catheter-based products under a microscope in a cleanroom environment. You will follow established procedures and documentation standards, operate specialized tools and equipment, and contribute directly to the quality and integrity of life-enhancing medical devices. Candidates with experience assembling small or delicate components in manufacturing, laboratory, electronics, aerospace, or medical device environments are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

  • 2nd Shift: 2:30pm - 11pm
  • **Must be open to train on 1st Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm for 1 month**

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture medical devices, including catheter assemblies, using a microscope and other specialized production and inspection tools.
  • Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Line Clearance requirements, Work Instructions, assembly methods, product handling methods, production drawings, Good Documentation Practices, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and safety requirements.
  • Complete all required production training and demonstrate understanding of travelers/routers, material identification, and proper use of tools, equipment, and microscopes for product builds.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently, and complete all documentation accurately as required for production and quality records.
  • Perform equipment set-up, operation, and in-process inspection to ensure assigned tasks are completed to specification and quality standards.
  • Work directly with engineers and supervisors to ensure product integrity and quality are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with engineers to help develop and refine process documentation for manufacturing activities.
  • Perform inventory counts to support production needs and maintain accurate material records.
  • Use required safety equipment when performing lab and cleanroom work.
  • Receive and follow verbal instructions regarding daily duties and priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, production, or prototyping environment.
  • Prior experience with medical device assembly, particularly under a microscope.
  • Experience with catheter assembly or catheter product manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures, Line Clearance processes, Work Instructions, and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and quality-focused production methods.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Ability to understand and perform in-process inspections to ensure workmanship and quality of in-process medical devices.
  • Strong hand dexterity for precise assembly work under a microscope.
  • Effective communication skills to follow verbal instructions and collaborate with engineers and supervisors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with medical device manufacturing operations, particularly catheter-related products.
  • Familiarity with working with adhesives, including different types of Loctite.
  • Experience using EFD dispensers and UV curing systems in a production or lab setting.
  • Comfort working with production travelers/routers and material identification processes.
  • Ability to operate inspection tools and equipment to verify product quality.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product integrity and cleanliness in a cleanroom environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a cleanroom environment focused on the manufacturing of catheter-based medical devices. You will work under a microscope and use specialized equipment such as EFD dispensers and UV curing systems, while following strict safety, cleanliness, and documentation standards. The position is on 2nd shift, and you will wear appropriate cleanroom attire and safety equipment as required for lab and production work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.15/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
