You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of HVAC/R units for customers, using a company-provided vehicle, parts, and specialty tools. You start your day by leaving directly from home to your first service call and may take the service truck home. This position includes participation in a rotating on-call schedule, with calls typically not extending late into the night. If you are interested in this position, then please apply today and an Aerotek Recruiter will reach out within 24-48 hours.

Responsibilities
  • Perform commercial and industrial service work on HVAC and refrigeration units at customer locations.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, compressors, cooling towers, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Use strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform HVAC maintenance tasks to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably.
  • Utilize company-provided vehicle, parts, and specialty tools to complete service calls safely and efficiently.
  • Travel from home directly to customer sites, starting work at the first job location, typically at 7:00 AM.
  • Visit the shop when needed to load parts and materials, ensuring you have the correct equipment for scheduled calls.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation approximately once every six weeks, responding to customer needs within established hours.
  • Work on rooftop units and indoor units, often at heights and in outdoor conditions, following safety procedures.

  • Operate and care for basic hand tools, power tools, and HVAC-specific tools in a safe and responsible manner.
Essential Skills
  • At least 5 years of commercial HVAC/R service experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience specifically in commercial and industrial refrigeration.

  • Comfort working on rooftop and indoor units, including at heights and outdoors.
  • Knowledge of EPA regulations and HVAC best practices, including safe handling of refrigerants (EPA Universal certification strongly preferred or equivalent knowledge)
Why Work Here?

You join a well-established HVAC organization with a strong presence in the region and a large base of repeat customers, offering stable and consistent work. The company provides a service vehicle, parts, and specialty tools, allowing you to focus on your craft rather than logistics. You benefit from a structured schedule with a defined start time and a reasonable on-call rotation that is not 24/7, supporting a healthier work-life balance. Working with a variety of commercial and industrial systems gives you the opportunity to sharpen your technical skills and grow professionally in a supportive environment.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role working on rooftop units and indoor units across a broad service area. You regularly work at heights and in outdoor environments, so you must feel comfortable working on roofs and in varying weather conditions. The position involves daily travel using a company-provided truck, which you may take home, and you may occasionally report to the shop to load parts and materials. Typical work begins with the first job at around 7:00 AM, with additional compensated drive time for distant calls and shop visits. The on-call schedule runs approximately once every six weeks, with calls generally limited to reasonable evening hours rather than overnight. You use basic hand tools, power tools, and specialized HVAC equipment, following safety protocols and any applicable dress or PPE guidelines appropriate for industrial and rooftop service work.
