Pharmacist | Springfield, Missouri

A pharmacist role is available for a 13-week contract with strong potential for extension, based in Springfield, MO. This opportunity includes four openings across various shifts to accommodate different schedules:

• 1 position on 1st shift: 10-hour shifts, 7 days on/7 days off
• 2 positions on 2nd shift: 10-hour shifts, 7 days on/7 days off
• 1 position on 3rd shift (night): 7 days on/7 days off

Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in Missouri
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; new graduates are welcome to apply
• Proficient with EPIC electronic medical record system

Responsibilities:

• Utilize EPIC dispense prep to verify medications, kits, crash carts, prepackaged items, and other necessary products
• Coordinate workflow in the central pharmacy ensuring efficiency and accuracy
• Verify medication products including IVs, premade IVs, creams, and insulin pens
• Ensure code carts are fully and correctly restocked
• Oversee pharmacy technicians’ workflow and redirect tasks to support pharmacy operations; no direct supervisory responsibilities
• Support central pharmacy operations as the primary pharmacist, while other pharmacists focus on order review within the EHR

Training:

• Initial training period of 2-3 weeks focused on product verification, adjusted based on individual capability

Work Environment:
The central pharmacy team includes 5 pharmacists and 10 technicians on the day shift, with 2 pharmacists and 5-6 technicians on the evening shift. This role is key to maintaining smooth pharmacy operations and supporting the pharmacy team’s success.
