A full-time contract opportunity is available in South San Francisco, providing essential coverage for a high school ESN (Extensive Support Needs) classroom. This position is to cover a leave for the first semester, with the potential to extend through the end of the school year.
Special education professionals who hold an active California Moderate/Severe credential are highly encouraged to apply—your unique expertise will make a meaningful difference for students requiring intensive support. Desired Qualifications:
- Valid and active California Moderate/Severe (mod/severe) Education Specialist credential (required)
- Experience working with extensive support needs populations preferred
- Ability to provide differentiated instructional strategies to support unique learning needs
- Strong collaboration skills to work with families, support staff, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for high school students in the ESN program
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to meet student needs
- Utilize behavior support strategies to encourage student engagement and progress
- Maintain precise documentation of student performance and communicate regularly with families and team members
- Support inclusion and participation in school activities
