Staffing Branch Manager
Job Description
Go-Staff is looking for a hands-on Branch Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of a staffing branch.
You’ll manage and develop a team responsible for recruiting, dispatching, scheduling, client service, and sales — but you must also be willing and able to jump in and do the work yourself when needed.
Sometimes your job is to manage the person doing the work. Other times, your job is to do the work.
What You’ll Do
- Manage, coach, and hold branch employees accountable
- Oversee recruiting, interviewing, hiring, dispatching, and scheduling
- Fill job orders and handle call-outs or last-minute replacements when needed
- Monitor staffing levels, open orders, client needs, and branch performance
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Resolve employee and client issues quickly
- Manage and support branch sales staff
- Prospect for new business, visit clients, follow up on leads, and help close accounts
- Step into any area of the branch when additional support is needed
Staffing Is a 24/7 Business
Our clients operate outside traditional office hours. Early starts, night shifts, weekends, call-outs, and last-minute staffing needs are part of the business.
This is not always an 8-to-5 role.
The Branch Manager is responsible for making sure appropriate coverage is in place and that important client and employee issues are handled.
You don’t have to do everything yourself — but you do need to own the outcome.
Who We’re Looking For
Someone who is:
- A strong people manager
- Organized, responsive, and comfortable making decisions
- Able to prioritize multiple urgent issues
- Comfortable holding employees accountable
- Strong with clients and customer service
- Comfortable recruiting, interviewing, scheduling, and dispatching
- Comfortable selling and developing new business
- Willing to jump in rather than say, “That’s not my job”
- Calm under pressure and focused on results
Staffing industry experience is strongly preferred.
Previous management experience is preferred, but we’ll also consider strong staffing professionals who are ready to move into leadership.
English/Spanish bilingual is a plus.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Branch Manager has:
- Jobs consistently filled
- Strong recruiting activity
- Organized scheduling and dispatch
- Strong client relationships
- New business being developed
- A productive and accountable team
- A branch that continues to grow
Most importantly, when there’s a problem, the Branch Manager owns it and gets it handled.
