Field Diesel Mechanic Senior

As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III), you’ll apply your expertise to service and repair complex equipment in a safe, efficient, and professional way. Requirements:

• In-depth understanding of construction machinery, including the ability to read and interpret schematics and diagrams
• Working hours from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in equipment and tool maintenance/repair
• Strong mechanical skills with proven knowledge of tool usage
• Current driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication abilities
• Physically able to lift up to 45 lbs on a regular basis
• Professional references from previous jobs.
  What you’ll do:
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems across a wide range of rental and customer-owned equipment, exercising sound independent judgment.
• Travel to customer sites to carry out service and repairs; ensure the service vehicle is kept clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
• Support in mentoring and guiding junior technicians when required.
• Accurately complete daily paperwork or digital documentation of tasks performed (work orders) in a timely manner.
• Assist with transporting equipment and parts for delivery or pick-up.

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Earthmoving: Excavators, Skid Steers, Dozers, Wheel loaders.
• Aerial: Scissor lifts, Boom lifts
• ⁠Material Handling: Telehandlers, forklifts
• ⁠Site Services: Sweepers, compactors, light towers, generator

Work Order & Documentation

• Accurately document repair work, parts usage, and labor hours in the company’s maintenance system.
• Complete damage assessments and generate estimates for customer billing if applicable.
• Communicate repair timelines and findings clearly to service managers or counter teams.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to rental industry safety standards, including OSHA and company-specific policies.
• Ensure equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with local and federal regulations before release.
• Practice proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental hazard protocols.

Shop & Field Work

• May assist in yard operations, such as:
• Perform repairs in both shop and yard environments; assist with field service calls under direction.
• Support field service repairs on job sites (if qualified and cleared by supervisor).
• Help load/unload equipment or assist drivers with mechanical setups (e.g., setting outriggers, loading ramps).

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Level 1 technicians to provide guidance and mentorship.
• Collaborate with Level 2 technicians or Shop Leads on complex repairs or large rebuilds.
