Project Manager
Job Description
Thinkpath Engineering Services (TES) is looking for a Project Manager to work for our customer, based remotely from home and travelling and working onsite at facilities for scheduled plant outages/projects. These projects typically last from 1 to 2 months at a time (up to 7 or so projects per year). This would predominately be located at facilities in or near Texas but could be utilized at power plants, steel mills and other industrial facilities.
Job Description
- Site project manager shall oversee site activities during planned or emergent outages.
- The site manager would be expected at site for 10-12 hours per day.
- Site activities could include large motor (100,000 HP) maintenance and repairs and/or Variable Frequency Medium Voltage Drive maintenance and repairs.
Primary duties include:
- Establishes a project plan using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera (P6) for site interventions involving client personnel and contracted labor
- Oversees and tracks daily site activities to ensure they are on track per budget and schedule
- Leads daily report outs of status for daily activities, sharing risks to budget overruns and/or schedule delays
- Assists commercial team in acquiring resources to perform daily activities in addition to tooling and other needed equipment
- Shift work may be required where site PM works a 10-12 hour shift either during the day or during the night time depending on the workload, as there are sometimes a day and night shift
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business or equivalent experience
- Project management experience in heavy industry environment, specifically Oil & Gas experience, with technical knowledge of power generation/delivery a plus
- Willingness to travel and work onsite during scheduled outages (typically lasts 1 to 2 months)
- Background in a customer facing Service Delivery or Project Management position
- Experience with Primavera P6 (strongly preferred) or MS Project and strong Excel background
- Knowledge or experience in wiring and/or testing electronic equipment a plus
