Payroll Specialist

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support weekly payroll operations within a construction environment. This role will manage payroll processing, employee records, compliance reporting, and payroll-related employee support. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience supporting a field-based workforce.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll accurately and ensure timely completion
• Review timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies with field teams
• Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, adjustments, and related documentation
• Support certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage compliance requirements
• Utilize certified payroll compliance platforms to maintain accurate reporting and documentation
• Assist with employee onboarding, benefits administration, and HR-related processes
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
• Maintain confidential personnel information and support audits/reporting as needed
• Partner with operations and leadership to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll processing experience
• Multi-state payroll for 100+ employees
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred
• Construction industry payroll experience is a plus
• Experience with certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage compliance
• Experience using certified payroll compliance platforms preferred
• Experience with payroll/HRIS systems
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
