Junior Systems Administrator
Job Description
We are looking for a Junior Systems Administrator to join our IT team and provide day-to-day support for our Windows and Microsoft Azure environment. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their systems administration career who has a strong technical foundation and is ready to expand their skills.
What You'll Do
- Support and maintain Windows desktops, laptops, servers, and related systems.
- Assist with administration of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, security groups, and access through Active Directory and Azure/Entra ID.
- Provide Level 1/Level 2 technical support for hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding, including equipment setup and user account provisioning.
- Install, configure, patch, and troubleshoot Windows systems and applications.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Assist with system monitoring, backups, endpoint security, and routine maintenance.
- Troubleshoot basic networking issues including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi.
- Document technical issues, solutions, configurations, and IT procedures.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT resources or outside vendors as needed.
- Help maintain IT inventory, hardware, software licenses, and equipment.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of IT support, Help Desk, Desktop Support, or Systems Administration experience.
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and/or Entra ID.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and common business applications.
- Familiarity with user provisioning, permissions, security groups, and password management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate an issue.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Windows Server.
- Exposure to Intune or other endpoint/device management tools.
- Basic PowerShell knowledge.
- Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 certifications.
- Previous experience working in aviation, transportation, or another 24/7 operational environment.
