We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment, with a strong background in Swiss-style CNC lathes, Haas machining centers, and Mazak equipment. This position is responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs, producing high-precision components, troubleshooting machining issues, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met.
Schedule: 6 am-4:30 pm Monday–Thursday
Pay: $25.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience.
Essential Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC Swiss lathes, Haas machining centers, and Mazak equipment.
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency, quality, and cycle times.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, cutting speeds, and feeds for various materials.
- Perform machine setups, tool offsets, and first-piece inspections.
- Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machining issues to minimize downtime.
- Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and indicators.
- Monitor production runs and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and company procedures.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training or machining certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC programming and machining experience.
- Experience with Swiss-style CNC machines, Haas, and Mazak equipment is required.
- Proficiency with G-code programming and CNC setup procedures.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and metal-cutting processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
- Experience working with precision measuring equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
