Shipping Receiving Manager

The Shipping Manager oversees the daily operations of a shipping and logistics department, ensuring that products are routed, packaged, and delivered safely, accurately, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Order Processing: Track, prioritize, and route outgoing customer orders using shipping software.
• Documentation Management: Handle vital paperwork including bills of lading, pick slips, and advance shipping notices.
• Team Supervision: Lead, train, and schedule warehouse staff and coordinators.
• Quality Control: Inspect labels, barcodes, and package contents to prevent shipping errors.
• Carrier Management: Select transportation carriers, negotiate rates, and manage shipping costs.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to legal regulations and workplace safety standards.
• Problem Resolution: Fix delayed, lost, or damaged shipments quickly.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma required; a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or logistics is often preferred.
• Experience: 2 to 5+ years of experience working in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory control.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and electronic shipping software (e.g., ShipStation, inventory management systems).
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, organization, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
