Safety Manager

Location: Cincinnati, OH or Detroit, MI | Schedule: Full-time

Position Overview

Join our client’s team as a Safety Manager, leading EHS programs across multiple manufacturing and service center locations. This role partners with operations leadership to promote a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain EHS policies and programs in compliance with OSHA and applicable regulations.
  • Provide safety leadership across multiple facilities and partner with operations leaders to improve safety performance.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, risk assessments, and hazard analyses.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Manage OSHA inspections, regulatory inquiries, and compliance documentation.
  • Develop and deliver safety training, including LOTO, machine guarding, powered industrial trucks, hazard communication, and other required programs.
  • Maintain and improve the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
  • Monitor safety metrics and prepare reports and trend analyses.
  • Maintain safety, training, and regulatory records.
  • Support 5S, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Travel between locations, including occasional overnight travel and support for operations in Mexico.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, EHS, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive safety/EHS experience.
  • Strong OSHA knowledge and experience with compliance programs, inspections, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Manufacturing or service center experience strongly preferred.
  • ISO 45001 experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of LOTO, machine guarding, forklift safety, hazard communication, and industrial safety programs.
  • CSP or other professional safety certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple locations and organizational levels.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
