HVAC Service & Installation Technician (Traveling Position)
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and self-motivated HVAC Service & Installation Technician to join our growing service team.
In this role, you will install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems at customer locations. You’ll work with a variety of equipment, including split systems, rooftop units (RTUs), and wall pack units, while performing diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and system installations.
This is a traveling field position for an experienced HVAC technician who enjoys hands-on work, solving technical problems, working independently, and providing excellent service to customers.

What You’ll Do
· Install residential and commercial split HVAC systems.
· Install and replace commercial rooftop units (RTUs).
· Install, service, and repair wall pack HVAC units.
· Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment and system issues.
· Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
· Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components.
· Recover, evacuate, and charge refrigerants in accordance with EPA requirements and industry standards.
· Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical documentation, and manufacturer specifications.
· Test HVAC systems to verify proper operation following installation or repair.
· Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment operation, service needs, and recommended repairs or maintenance.
· Complete service tickets, installation documentation, and other required reports accurately and on time.
· Maintain company-provided vehicle, tools, and equipment.
· Follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
Travel throughout the assigned service area and to project locations as required
What We’re Looking For
· 3+ years of HVAC installation and service experience.
· Hands-on experience working with:
o Split systems
o Rooftop units (RTUs)
o Wall pack units
· Strong HVAC diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
· EPA Universal Certification.
· Knowledge of refrigeration systems and proper refrigerant handling procedures.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
· Ability to obtain a chauffeur’s license within the first 90 days of employment, as required by the employee’s state of residence.
· Ability and willingness to travel for service calls and projects.
· Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities in the field.
· Strong customer service and communication skills.
· Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
· Ability to lift 75+ lbs.
· Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
· NATE Certification
· Experience with commercial HVAC controls.
· Sheet metal fabrication experience.
· Strong electrical troubleshooting experience.
