Forklift Mechanic

The Forklift Mechanic plays a crucial role within a medium-sized maintenance team, directly reporting to the Service Manager. This position involves repairing and maintaining forklifts and related heavy equipment, focusing on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. The role occasionally requires travel to other sites and the use of vendor-specific diagnostic software and advanced testing equipment alongside standard mechanical tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform forklift repair and preventive maintenance tasks
• Service hydraulic systems and conduct electrical diagnostics
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and replace necessary parts
• Conduct safety inspections and equipment testing
• Maintain accurate records and manage tools effectively
• Perform welding tasks and fabrication work as needed
• Utilize vendor-specific diagnostic software and advanced testing equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years in forklift or heavy equipment maintenance
• Technical certificate in diesel mechanics or industrial maintenance
• Experience with forklift maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting
• Proficient in hydraulic system repair and electrical system diagnostics
• Skilled in welding and fabrication
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and equipment inspection
• Strong awareness of safety compliance standards
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
