Maintenance Worker III (Temp-to-Perm Opportunity)

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Worker III for a temp-to-perm opportunity at a residential/community facility in Brooklyn, NY. This position is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong plumbing and boiler experience who is looking for long-term career growth. The selected candidate will oversee facility maintenance operations, supervise maintenance staff, and ensure compliance with all building safety and regulatory requirements.

Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
(1-hour unpaid lunch)

Compensation

Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance staff.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all building systems.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and other applicable standards.
• Manage and prioritize maintenance work orders.
• Track repairs, inventory, purchases, and maintenance activities using a computerized maintenance management system.
• Coordinate and document all required inspections and certifications.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues outside regular business hours when necessary.
• Assist with capital planning and maintenance budgeting.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years of building maintenance experience.
• At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong plumbing and boiler experience required.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair building systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Required/Preferred Certifications

Candidates should possess at least three of the following certifications and be willing to obtain the remaining certifications if needed:

• S-12: Citywide Sprinkler Systems / S-11 Residential Sprinkler Systems
• S-13: Citywide Standpipe Systems
• S-95: Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems
• P-98: Fuel Oil Piping and Storage Systems
• F-80: Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems
