Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our full-time team. The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is eager to learn, and contributes to a culture of respect, kindness, and excellence in patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments
- Prepare and maintain surgical and dental equipment, and assist with anesthesia monitoring
- Perform patient restraint, sample collection (blood, urine, fecal), and diagnostic testing
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under veterinarian supervision
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper patient documentation
- Provide compassionate client education and support regarding pet care, nutrition, and home treatments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, exam rooms, and kennels
- Assist with radiology, laboratory work, and patient recovery
- Ensure adherence to AAHA standards and hospital protocols for safety and patient care
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician preferred
- Certification (CVT, LVT, RVT) is a plus, but not required
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate attitude toward animals and their owners
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Availability for a full-time schedule, including weekends on a rotating shift (Monday-Friday with one day off during the week, and 1/2 days on Saturdays with every fourth Saturday off)
