Position Summary

GZ Printpak LLC is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician / Machine Setter to support production operations on 3rd shift. This position combines industrial maintenance with machine setup responsibilities and plays an important role in keeping production equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently.

The Maintenance Technician / Machine Setter will troubleshoot and repair equipment, perform preventive maintenance, complete machine setups and adjustments, support changeovers and startups, and work directly with production employees to minimize equipment downtime.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience working with industrial machinery, and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve equipment problems. Strong mechanical experience is essential. Electrical troubleshooting experience is valuable but does not need to be the candidate's primary area of expertise.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and related facility systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and pneumatic equipment issues.
  • Set up and adjust production equipment according to production requirements and product specifications.
  • Perform and support machine changeovers, startups, adjustments, and setup verification.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and work efficiently to identify root causes and minimize production downtime.
  • Work directly with machine operators and production employees to diagnose and resolve equipment-related problems.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or developing issues and address concerns before they result in equipment failure.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Complete maintenance records, repair documentation, and other required records using computer-based systems.
  • Support equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout requirements and safe maintenance practices.
  • Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training in industrial maintenance, mechanics, electromechanical technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of industrial maintenance, machine maintenance, or related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot industrial machinery.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems and pneumatics required.
  • Experience with hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and other equipment commonly used in industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, equipment manuals, and other technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance records and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize equipment issues, and effectively support production during the shift.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with Production, Engineering, and other Maintenance employees.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and work around manufacturing equipment throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and move materials, tools, parts, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment as required.
  • Ability to safely perform maintenance and machine setup activities in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Shift Schedule

  • 3rd Shift: 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
