Quality Control Technician - Plumbing

Plumbing Concepts Inc. is a large residential and commercial plumbing company with 40+ years of experience in the industry. We're looking to add a talented employee to our quality control department. We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician for work in the San Diego, Orange County, Desert, and Inland Empire areas and help maintain and elevate our standards in the field.

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting plumbing installations at key stages of construction to ensure all work meets company standards, applicable codes, and functional requirements. This role is critical in identifying issues early, preventing callbacks, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sewer camera inspections after grounds are installed to verify lines are clear, properly installed, and free of obstructions
• Conduct jobsite walkthroughs after rough-in to ensure:
• • Work is installed per company standards
  • Proper materials and methods are used
  • No visible leaks or installation deficiencies exist
• Conduct jobsite walkthroughs after finish to ensure:
• • All fixtures are properly installed
  • No leaks are present
  • Work meets company quality expectations
• Flood test all fixtures to confirm proper operation and drainage
• Test water heaters to ensure correct installation, functionality, and performance
• Document findings clearly and report deficiencies to project management or field supervisors
• Verify corrections are completed before job sign-off
• Maintain a professional presence on jobsites and work collaboratively with installers and supervisors

Qualifications

• Plumbing experience required (journeyman-level experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems, installation standards, and jobsite sequencing
• Experience using sewer camera equipment is a plus (or willingness to learn)
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobsite inspections
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to use basic technology for documentation (photos, reports, apps)
