Electro-Mechanical Assembler – 2nd Shift
Location: San Diego, CA | Onsite
Schedule: This position follows a 9/80 work schedule.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Assembler to support depot production operations in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly, production hand-soldering, wiring, and working from engineering drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, repair, fabricate, and modify electrical and mechanical assemblies according to engineering documentation and work instructions.
- Perform electro-mechanical assembly, repair, and rework of transformers, power supplies, magnetic assemblies, and related components.
- Read and interpret electromechanical blueprints, wiring diagrams, electronic schematics, and work instructions.
- Perform production hand-soldering in accordance with client and industry standards.
- Assemble, route, connect, and secure electrical and mechanical components using hand tools and measurement devices.
- Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Complete production documentation, travelers, and data entry using basic computer systems and internal software.
- Follow all required Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) procedures and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Support continuous improvement and other production activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of relevant assembly or manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 1 year of production hand-soldering experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electromechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
- Experience using hand tools and basic measurement equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- J-STD-001 soldering certification.
- Experience with electro-mechanical assembly, wiring, or electrical testing.
- Experience working with transformers, power supplies, or magnetic assemblies.
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO-certified manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work effectively within a small, high-performing production team.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required, or vocational/technical education in a related field with relevant experience.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Onsite position in San Diego, CA.
- Primarily seated work with occasional standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing ladders or step stools.
- Must be able to lift and move components weighing up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
- Must follow all company safety, PPE, and EHS requirements.
