Can you read a print, choose the right tooling, upload a program, and turn out a perfect first piece—then keep two VMCs producing while you prep the next job? If that sounds like your rhythm, you’ll feel at home here.
What you’ll tackle- Set up and run CNC vertical milling centers to meet job specs and quality targets
- Install tooling and fixtures; upload/verify programs
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Perform first-article and in-process checks with micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Tweak offsets, make minor adjustments, and troubleshoot light issues
- Operate up to two machines at a time; complete 1–5 setups per shift depending on demand
- Thrive in a fast-paced, team-first environment
- CNC setup experience on vertical milling centers
- Blueprint literacy
- Quality inspection skills with micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Comfort with Fanuc controls
- Haas VMC setup/operation experience
- On-control program editing
- G-code and M-code knowledge
- Exposure to 5-axis CNC equipment
- Haas VF-2, VF-5
- DMG Mori CMX 1100
- DMG Mori NVX 5100, 7000
- Okuma mills and lathes
- CNC tooling know-how
- G-code and M-code fundamentals
- Setup and changeover efficiency
- Repeatable production-run setups
- CNC mill (3–4 axis VMC): Haas, Doosan, Fanuc
- Multimeter
- CNC lathe (2–4 axis): Haas, Doosan
