Position Summary 3 Squared Technology Group is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Installation Technician with strong hands-on experience in structured cabling, security camera systems, and electronic door/access-control systems. The ideal candidate is a field technician who can perform professional commercial installations from start to finish, including pulling and terminating cable, installing cameras, mounting and connecting access-control equipment, installing door hardware, testing systems, troubleshooting problems, and documenting completed work. This position requires someone who is comfortable working independently as well as part of an installation team in commercial and government environments. Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, label, and troubleshoot Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A structured cabling.
- Pull and route low-voltage cable through ceilings, walls, conduit, cable trays, and other approved pathways.
- Install and terminate patch panels, network jacks, keystone modules, and related structured-cabling components.
- Install network and telecommunications racks, cabinets, cable management, and associated equipment.
- Test installed cabling using appropriate cable-testing equipment and correct identified faults.
- Install, mount, aim, configure, and test IP security cameras and surveillance equipment.
- Install and connect NVRs, PoE switches, camera power equipment, and related security infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot camera connectivity, cabling, power, positioning, and recording issues.
- Install and service electronic door access-control systems.
- Install card readers, keypads, door position switches, request-to-exit devices, and access-control controllers.
- Install and connect electric door strikes, magnetic locks (maglocks), and other electrified door hardware.
- Install low-voltage power supplies and associated access-control wiring.
- Assist with door hardware installation and adjustment as required for proper access-control operation.
- Test doors and access-control components to verify proper locking, unlocking, egress, and system operation.
- Perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting for IP-connected cameras and security devices.
- Identify and troubleshoot wiring, termination, connectivity, and hardware problems.
- Read and follow floor plans, installation drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Label cables, equipment, patch panels, cameras, and access-control devices according to project requirements.
- Maintain accurate installation documentation, test results, equipment information, and photographs.
- Coordinate professionally with customers, project managers, IT personnel, electricians, locksmiths, and other trades.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional installation sites.
- Follow all applicable workplace safety procedures and customer-site requirements.
- 2+ years of low-voltage installation experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience pulling and terminating structured cabling.
- Experience with Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A cabling and RJ45 termination.
- Experience installing commercial IP security cameras.
- Experience with door access-control systems and electrified door hardware.
- Familiarity with electric strikes and magnetic locks.
- Ability to install and troubleshoot readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, and associated wiring.
- Basic understanding of Ethernet networking, TCP/IP, PoE, switches, and IP addressing.
- Ability to use cable testers, tone generators/probes, multimeters, hand tools, drills, and other installation equipment.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, floor plans, and technical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
