2026-2027 Biology 9-12

MHOTEP Institute Charter High School is looking for a Biology teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. We are an African centered STEM school located in Northwest region of Philadelphia. The primary goal of Imhotep is to produce well rounded and productive lifelong learners through a culturally relevant program with high student academic achievement.

Biology Teacher Requirements:
- Must hold PA Certification in the content area of interest
- Must have current clearances: Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprinting check, Act 168
- Experience working in an urban educational setting preferred
- At least a Bachelors Degree
- Commitment to the school’s vision and mission
- Strong sense of personal accountability towards student achievement
- Professionalism

Biology Teacher Responsibilities:

• Using materials provided, conduct instruction and assessments
  - Plan and prepare instruction and conduct assessments where necessary
  - Create a respected classroom environment with a culture for learning
  - Manage student behavior, ensuring school code of conduct is implemented
  - Open line of communication with faculty, students, and the students families
