Position – Control Panel Technician
Job Location – Eau Claire, WI
Starting Date – Immediate
Employment Term – Long-Term Temporary to Hire
Employment Type – Full-Time
Work Hours (Shift) – 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Starting Pay – $25.00-$28.00 per hour, based on experience
Required Education – High School Diploma or Technical Associate Degree
Required Experience – 5+ years of electrical experience; manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Join a growing custom manufacturing operation producing electrical control panels for customers across a variety of industries. As a Control Panel Technician, you will use electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and your hands-on electrical experience to build and test custom control panels to customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Wire and build custom electrical control panels according to customer specifications
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, blueprints, and engineering drawings
- Install and connect electrical components, wiring, terminals, and related panel components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete panel builds
- Operate labeling equipment, wire processing equipment, and other production machinery
- Perform testing of completed control panels
- Verify work for accuracy, proper wiring, and overall product quality
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail throughout the assembly and wiring process
- Help maintain production schedules and communicate when project timelines may be impacted
- Follow established safety procedures, policies, and work instructions
- Support LEAN manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Assist with other production responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical Associate Degree is a plus
- 5+ years of electrical experience required
- Previous experience wiring and building electrical control panels strongly preferred
- Manufacturing experience preferred, with 3-5+ years in a production environment ideal
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams required
- Ability to understand ladder logic required
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a production team
- Dependable work history and longer-term employment experience preferred
- Willingness to learn new processes, equipment, and manufacturing methods
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Custom electrical manufacturing and production environment
- Regular standing, walking, reaching, bending, and use of hands and tools
- Ability to periodically lift and move up to 45 pounds
- Ability to perform detailed electrical wiring and assembly work throughout the shift
- Must maintain a strong awareness of personal and workplace safety
